Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has questioned whether Liverpool manager Arne Slot is not a huge fan of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Reds have won three straight games of the new season without conceding a goal. Including the 3-0 demolition of Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Trent played a key role in those victories, starting at right-back in every game. However, he never finished the game, always being substituted in the 70th minute.
With his contract set to expire this summer, his future is uncertain. And Scholes has questioned whether Sloth is a fan of the player’s style of play.
“I watched the game on Sunday and every time he lost the ball he (Slot) was just shaking his head. ” the former England midfielder said.
“He’s just looking away and turning around on the bench. “
He (Trent) tries to play long balls. Of course he’s done brilliantly but I think, “I’m not sure he (Slots) likes him (Trent)”.
“I think the way Slots wants to play, he doesn’t want that long ball”, prompting Jamie Carragher to counter, “He (Slots) would want him (Trent) to stay”. Scholes then hit
back with praise for Conor Bradley, suggesting he is the new future at right-back, prompting Carragher to joke, “Are you trying to get rid of him (Trent)?”
